wotanserver is SHIT software.  it took my money and is now giving STRANGE exception errors!!!  this is a rip-off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your firmware, I’ve flashed it and it’s working a treat.  I’ve also downloaded Myphpne Explorer, but when I try to syncronise with the phone it tells me I’ve got an OBEX error…..? Can you help?

Wotanserver is a total RIP OFF!!!!!  They say you only need ONE credit to upgrade but if phone doesn’t upgrade the first time because of battery issues or whatever .. and you have to have a second attempt it allows you then stop the upgrade midway.  You go to the server and buy another credit .. but it just swallows that credit and gives you nothing in return ... then they don’t respond to emails.  I’ve been defrauded!!!!

YM - The solution was kind of the point of this blog entry, it solved the problem for me and so I posted it to help others out with the same issue.

It seems that some people are having problems with Wotan though so use it at your own risk.

Wotan is useless.. Does anyone know where you can get standalone software to flash the phone.

For the K800i I recommend you just flash & debrand it yourself rather than rely on Wotan or Davinchi, Use the XS++ program instead and add the firmware and system files yourself (which you can find on a download site called 4shared.com) Its very easy to do, I’ve debranded & fixed lots of Sony Ericssons this way W550i, W810i, K800i are just a few. AND ITS FREE!.

I can also recommend a cool app for Sony’s. It’s called i-Citizen and it came out recently. It’s the world’s first 3D world and the k800 works like a charm on it. Its fun to play and you can meet people and chat to them as you might have guessed. They have promotions where they give away PS3’s and Xboxes to people in a place called i-Bid in the app. Its beta release was announced in March 2008 and anyone can give it a try. You can get it from your mobiles browser or your pc by going to http://wap.icitizencommunity.com.

every time i turn on my k800i an error message shows on display something about the menu.ml file sayin that it may rendder the menu unusable,also i cant acces my aplications and games"operation failed” is displayed.please help me .....

The Wotanserver stuff revived my completely scrambled K800i without any problems - thanks for the info. Sorry other people had problems.
